Visiting water management area exhibition WEFTEC

From 26th September, 2015 until 4th October, 2015, employees of SIA “VEGA 1” Jānis Zviedris, Normunds Brucis and Sandis Dejus, in cooperation with subdivision of Latvian Biotechnologies association Cleantech Latvia (contract No.: L-KAP-12-0009) and support of LIDA, in the composition of Latvian delegation, went to the annual USA water management area exhibition WEFTEC.

Exhibition WEFTEC took place in Chicago city, USA, from 26th September until 3rd October. WEFTEC exhibition is annual and biggest exhibition in USA, dedicated to water issues. During the exhibition different working teams, organized seminars and thematic tours are taking place.

During the exhibition, representatives of SIA “VEGA 1” met USA cooperation companies of representative of USA embassy in Republic of Latvia Guntars Vičmanis, which were interested to meet members of Latvian delegation. During this meeting, mutual cooperation were discussed in the target markets of SIA “VEGA 1”.

Due to the concern of representative of USA embassy in Republic of Latvia Guntars Vičmanis, representatives of SIA “VEGA 1” met Latvian honorary consul in Chicago Roberts Blubergs. During this meeting representatives of Metropoliten Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago joined, with authorized person Mariyanna T.Spyropoulos leading. They presented their field of activity, related to sewage and rainwater collection, conduction and treatment in the Chicago city and surrounding regions. With the favor of Mariyanna T.Spyropoulos, possibility to visit Chicago Stickney sewage treatment plants, which are one of the largest in USA, was organized for representatives of SIA “VEGA 1”

Representatives of SIA “VEGA 1” dedicated one day to visit Water technology center of Milwaukee, Wisconsin state and Wisconsin university UWMILWAUKEE. During this visit, cooperation model between specialists of water management companies and university students to develop new technologies and innovation, was demonstrated. Professor of Wisconsin university UWMILWAUKEE Rebecca D.Klaper told about nuances of genomes research to preserve water resources.

Representatives of SIA “VEGA 1” attended WEFTEC exhibition for the second time and it must be admitted that every exhibition gives a chance to find more new, potential cooperation opportunities with different international companies, to increase competitiveness and to reach common goal – availability of clean and renewable water resources.
